NICOYA BLEND

JASON: PHOTOSHOOT
Hair/ Photo's: Tami Gardner

Okkkk so it's about time I start throwing some man
styles in with my blogs...;0)

For all you guy's whov'e asked for some suggestions on current styles here's a few that may be helpful....

The look for 2010 in my opinion is actually very boring & uninteresting...to be honest I havent been impressed with most of the cut's theyv'e had out for men recently....I mean you guys want to be eye catching...attractive....and up to date...but the haircuts Iv'e seen out for 2010 goes a little something like this....above the ears, side part, blocked in the back....ready...repeat...above the ears, side part, blocked in the back....Iv'e had a few guys come in over the last few months asking for this cut but I have to be honest....( ahhhhh ...) does it look attractive? sure...does it look modern ?? not so much....

In an attempt to break the boredum Iv'e created a few styles for men that originate from the fawx hawk / clipper over comb fade and tried to make it as versitile as possible for everyday wear.... With Jason we created a clipper over comb fade
then blended from short to long with a razor...This cut is a little on the edgy side..but gives a clean almost military look that can also be worn in or out of the office...

SHAGGY BETTY: So whatsssss a SHaggy Bettyyy???

SHAGGY BETTYssss... the Emo girls default....
EMO: ( Emotional ) finds it's roots in Indie Punk...
It's a Trend that defines itself "Outside the Box".
Because of it's Unique and Versitile Layers this cut can be modified specifically to meet your flavaaa..fancy..
Short, long, choppy, shaggy....it's a gender friendly
cut that can be designed to suit any face shape.

Note: Howeverrrrr....in order to get that ( EMO ) look...you musttt get it right the first time...or else the kiddo with the 90's Mullet will be getting trashed canned and it won't be for his/her lunch money...;o)....Emo Styles are personalized so it's definately a client / stylist friendly cut...Jump right in ....tell your stylist what you want.....how you want it and be creative...

With ALi I designed a cut that gave the appearance of a
EMO Shagg framing her face but was designed to give the look of a shattered A-BoB from the occipital to the collar....This cut is also extremely versitile...
For all you youngins...it can be worn in little piggy tails in the back while maintaining a piecy fringe around the face.....flipped out...under....pieced with exstensions...paired with crazzy black liner, summer, winter, black, blonde...u name it gurrrrll just have funn....

SheRawK FawX HawK: South American Inspired

South American Inspired

While traveling through South America in the winter of 2004 I couldn't help but notice a reoccuring theme amongst the youth...from the top of Beunos Aries to the Cape Horn kids throughout the region were sporting what I could only describe at the time as" Butterknife Bangs " meets
" Steak Knife Surprise "...it literally looked like someone took a butterknife and attempted to chopp, chisel, carve a 1980's punk rock mullet into the head of every young person between the age of 15 to 25......I'll add in blindfolded just to paint a better picture...;)

As Crazzzy as it sounds....the results were actually beautiful...the cut had no rhym or reason like many of the popular cut's we see today, nor was it confined to a certain race, gender or celebrity icon ...it just was.... Returning home I decided to experiment with this cut while marrying it with some of the poplular 80's inspired punk styles we see in todays youth....What I ended up with was a blend of organized chaos throw in a braid or two and
it flavors the look with a Pinch of BoHemiaN..........

This cut is extremly versitile, takes little to no time to style
and oddly enough isn't confined to one single trend....
It can be worn longer or shorter, flipped out, flipped under,
braided, curled, tossled and you still get that little slice of edgy.
